Harold Dantes-Castillo is an associate at d’QM, where he practices in our corporate group advising on mergers and acquisitions, cross-border and domestic commercial transactions, and U.S.-inbound investments, with a particular focus on tax structuring and international tax matters. In addition to his transactional work, Mr. Dantes-Castillo works with our commercial, insurance and healthcare litigation groups, representing clients in complex commercial and business litigation matters.
Dual-licensed in Florida and the Dominican Republic, Mr. Dantes-Castillo brings a unique international perspective to his practice. He earned an LL.M. in Taxation with a concentration in international tax, further strengthening his ability to advise multinational clients on cross-border structuring, treaty interpretation, and regulatory compliance.
Before joining d’QM, Mr. Dantes-Castillo served as a Senior Attorney with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel (Large Business and International Division) in Miami, where he litigated cases before the United States Tax Court and advised on high-stakes matters before the IRS Independent Office of Appeals. He began his legal career as a Tax & Legal Staff member at KPMG in the Dominican Republic, where he focused on international tax planning for corporate clients, including the application of U.S. and bilateral tax treaties.
Mr. Dantes-Castillo also brings valuable experience from the financial services industry, having previously been a licensed securities, investment, and insurance advisor. This background informs his work in insurance and financial regulatory matters and in providing business-focused guidance to institutional clients.
