Vedant Gokhale is a senior associate who has experience working in all of d’QM’s practice areas. Currently, he manages the firm’s representation of New York State’s Housing Trust Fund Corporation (“HTFC”). Mr. Gokhale’s duties in this role include drafting complaints, default motions and dispositive motions, which include motions for summary judgment, as well as drafting and responding to discovery requests. Additionally, Mr. Gokhale assists in negotiations, which along with secured court judgments, have led to d’QM’s recapture of over $4 million for HTFC.
Mr. Gokhale is also a lead attorney on the firm’s Structured Finance team that has closed dozens of mortgage-backed securities transactions. Mr. Gokhale’s enhanced understanding of financial transactions, securities and mortgages, as well as commercial litigation, has enabled him to assist d’QM in its firmwide practice areas including its representation of a leading commercial real estate lender in connection with its distressed multi-family mortgage portfolios. He also manages specific types of life rescission and disability policy litigation matters in New York. Mr. Gokhale was also selected to be a member of State Farm’s Rising Star Academy Class of 2025. This is an exclusive program recognizing select outside counsel for their leadership and business acumen.
In his 15 years of experience, and prior to working at d’QM, Mr. Gokhale managed large scale document reviews for mortgage backed securities litigation, worked as a real estate attorney, and was a staff attorney at the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs where he provided legal counsel to the government agency responsible for all aspects of the enforcement of New York City Consumer Protection laws in administrative proceedings before Administrative Law Judges and in New York State Courts.
Mr. Gokhale is a member of the South Asian Bar Association.

- On June 12, 2025, Michelle d’Arcambal, Aimee Creed, and Vedant Gokhale presented a CLE for a client discussing the general principles and common roadblocks to rescissions, policy lapses, and interpleaders.
- On March 11, 2024, Vedant Gokhale co-presented on the topic of “Obtaining Medical Records During a Contestability Investigation” at the Eastern Claims Conference. The presentation focused on strategies for securing medical records as related to an insurance policy subject to the contestability period.
On May 16, 2023, Vedant Gokhale, Michelle d’Arcambal, and Jackie Malyk presented a CLE for a client discussing the nuts and bolts of rescission and lapse of an insurance policy, avoiding interpleader pitfalls, and strategies to use during discovery and litigation.
March 24, 2021: Michelle d’Arcambal and Vedant Gokhale gave a presentation entitled “What makes a disability or life insurance policy contestable and when is it contestable?” With fraudulent schemes to void policies becoming more prevalent and ongoing changes in the way insurers can perform routine contestability reviews after death, the pair discussed strategies that insurers can employ to adapt to the ever-growing changes in the industry as we enter this new decade.
On October 26, 2020, Michelle d’Arcambal, Kimberly O’Toole, and Vedant Gokhale conducted a CLE presentation for a client entitled “Life Insurance Litigation: Recent Topics in Rescission and Interpleader Cases.” The presentation addressed how outside counsel can assist with obtaining information during the regular contestability investigation, situations where policies may be rescinded after the expiration of the two-year contestability period, and avoiding unnecessary costs and potential extra-contractual liability in interpleader matters.
